Norsk Kvalfangermuseum
Museet disponerer i dag ca 125 m2 på
Reine kultursenter og utstillingen er delt
opp i 5 avdelinger: Historikk, Fangeren &
Båten, Fangst og avlivning, Kvalfangst
og politikk, Vågekvalen. Det er også en
mini-kino med plass til ca 20 personer
hvor vi viser Frank A Jenssen’s og Dag
Lindebjerg’s filmer om kvalfangsten.
Museet har planer om å bygge et eget
bygg i Reine ytre havn (se tegningene til
høyre) hvor kvalbåten “Lyngøy skal
innlemmes i samlingen.

Man.-fre: 11.00-18.00
Lør-søn: 13.00-18.00
The Norwegian Whaler's
Museum
Today the museum has about 125 m2 of
floor space at its disposal at Reine
Centre of Culture and Arts, and is divided
up into 5 main departments: Whaling
History, The Whaler and his Boat, The
Hunt and the KIll, Whaling and Politics,
The Minke Whale. There is also a small
cinema to seat approx. 20 people where
we screen two documentary films about
whaling.
A new museum building in Reine outer
harbour is under planning (see drawings
at right) and the whaling vessel “Lyngøy”
will be incorporated into the museum’s
collection.

June-July-August
Mon.-Fri: 11.00-18.00
Lør. - Sun.: 13.00 - 18.00
